Website migration in Karimnagar
Web Start Karimnagar moves a website to new hosting, a new domain or a new platform. We copy it, test it, switch it over and check Google afterwards, so customers and search see as little change as possible.
Three kinds of move
The risk depends on what changes, so we start by asking which kind it is.

Google treats a hosting change and an address change as two separate guides for that reason. The first is about copying and switching. The second is about redirects.
What happens, in order
- Backup. A full copy of the current site and its database, before anything is touched.
- Notes on DNS and email. We write down every record, because moving a website can break email if a record is changed carelessly.
- Build the copy. The new site goes up on a temporary address with a `noindex` rule so Google does not list the test.
- Test. Pages, images, forms and downloads, opened the way a visitor would.
- Lower the TTL. Google suggests dropping the DNS cache time to a few hours at least a week ahead, so the switch spreads quickly.
- Switch. The DNS settings change and traffic starts going to the new place.
- Watch. We check the old and new sides in Search Console until both look right.
- Shut down the old host. Only when we are sure nobody, Googlebot included, is still being served from it.
Search Console ownership needs care too. If you verified your site with a file or a tag, the new copy has to carry it.
One change at a time
Google advises against moving the domain, changing the platform and redoing the layout in the same week. If something drops, you cannot tell which change did it. We split the work, usually moving first and redesigning afterwards. A redesign or speed fix comes after the move is steady.

People try to do this themselves and want a checklist, and many of them mix up moving a website with transferring a domain. They are different jobs. The domain is the address, and the website is the files behind it.
What a migration will not do
- Get you a domain someone else holds. If a former developer registered it in their own name, the first step is a transfer into your name. Our guide to domain and hosting explains how to see who owns yours.
- Fix a slow or hacked site. The problems come along unless we deal with them. A hacked site needs a cleanup first.
- Promise no movement in search. Google says rankings can fluctuate while it recrawls, so we tell you to expect that.

Questions about moving a website
Will my website go offline while it is moved?
It should not. Web Start Karimnagar builds and tests the new copy first and changes the domain's DNS settings only when the copy works, which is the order Google's guidance on changing hosting recommends.
Will moving my website hurt its Google ranking?
Expect some movement for a while. Google says a medium-sized site can take a few weeks or more before new addresses replace old ones in search, and that 301 redirects do not cause a loss in PageRank. Moving hosting without changing any address is the lowest-risk kind of move.
Will my email stop working when my website moves?
Not if the DNS records are handled with care. Your email records live in the same place as the website's, so Web Start Karimnagar writes them down before the change and checks them again after it.
What do you need to move my website?
The domain login, the hosting login and, for a WordPress site, an admin login. If someone else holds them, the first job is getting them back, and our guide to domain and hosting shows how to check.
How long should redirects from an old address stay in place?
Google says to keep them for as long as possible, generally at least one year, after a move that changes addresses. Web Start Karimnagar tells you the date and does not let them lapse early.
